Managing Agents Sustainability Toolkit - Better Buildings Partnership (BBP) app for iPhone and iPad

The BBP Managing Agents Sustainability Toolkit app sets out a full range of sustainability services which a commercial property owner should consider requiring its Managing Agent to provide and Managing Agents should consider providing for their clients.

Managing Agents have a key role to play in improving the environmental performance of the commercial property sector. The policies adopted by the Managing Agent for a building can have a dramatic effect on its environmental impact, as well as the drive to reduce carbon emissions across the sector. They are often the conduit linking owners and occupiers and are ideally placed to appreciate and promote the environmental aspirations of both parties and facilitate cooperation.

This Toolkit plays a fundamental role in helping to push forward effective commercial property management, saving occupiers money and reducing adverse environmental impacts. It will also help to improve an Agent’s service to clients, generating reputational and competitive advantages. Whilst aimed at Managing Agents, the Toolkit will prove useful for anyone interested in the sustainability of commercial buildings.

The Toolkit has been developed in collaboration with some of the UK’s largest commercial property owners and Managing Agents, with the aim of providing practical guidance on sustainability issues to help drive a reduction in carbon emissions and other associated adverse environmental impacts in commercial buildings.
